How We Work at Laminator
We are a small, hands-on team and everyone needs to pitch in. One day may include answering a sales call from Sandton, the next an on-site breakdown in Midrand or a roller cleaning job in Randburg, so you need to be comfortable with real jobs, real deadlines and proper follow-through.
Our work suits people who like machines, paperwork that is accurate, and customers who want straight answers. We are based in Kya Sand, Johannesburg, and we install nationwide, so some roles involve local travel, site visits and occasional early starts.
Roles We Commonly Hire For
We do not keep a fixed public vacancy list, but we regularly look for people with experience in technical support, sales, coordination and field service. If you understand roll laminators, print finishing or electrical fault finding, we want to hear from you.
- Technical and service roles, including roller cleaning, pressure calibration, heat system checks and drive system repairs
- Sales and account support for print shops, graphic designers and related businesses
- Installation and field support for on-site breakdowns and pre-purchase inspections
- Customer support and service coordination, including spare parts follow-up and job scheduling
What You Will Need Day to Day
Good candidates are organised, careful and able to speak plainly with customers. You should be happy working with equipment, tools and documentation, and be prepared for load-shedding affected sites, busy month-end periods and occasional work in coastal humidity where machines need extra care.
- Clear communication and a calm manner on the phone and on site
- Basic computer skills for quoting, job notes and follow-up messages
- Attention to detail when checking rollers, heat systems and electrical faults
- A valid driver’s licence if the role includes site visits or installations
Where Our Team Supports Customers
Our base is in Kya Sand, but our work reaches Randburg, Sandton, Midrand, Pretoria and the East Rand. That means some roles are office based and others spend more time on the road, meeting clients at print shops, studios and production floors.
If you live nearby and know the local routes, industrial parks and access rules, that is useful. It helps when planning deliveries, collecting parts, or getting to a site on time when a machine has stopped and a customer needs help quickly.
Training, Support and Growth
We value people who want to learn the right way to do the job. Depending on the role, you may work alongside Lunga Tshabangu, Herman Snyman, Leshni Dookhi or Yusuf Ismail to learn equipment setup, servicing routines and how we handle customer calls from first contact to handover.
We also look for people who can take instruction, ask good questions and keep records properly. That matters when you are booking a routine service, checking spare parts support, or preparing a machine for delivery and install.
